2016 News

Auckland Clef Music Club is about to launch its 69th Season of monthly classical concerts.

Yes, we’re just one year away from being seventy years old! Not a bad record for continuous existence of a real live club in this day and age of age of virtual everything.

The longevity of our club is due to the keen participation of so many people over the years; people who enjoy making music and people who enjoy listening to good music on a regular basis and are prepared to support aspiring musicians in their quest for excellence.

Our Performing Members, while also involved in other musical pursuits, are not professionals. Many have come to their music later in life after establishing careers in other fields, while others are young musicians who aspire to becoming professionals but need that confidence that performing in front of a real audience can bring.

Over the years, a number who have performed at Clef Club, have gone on to fame both here and abroad but, for the main part, we are just people who simply enjoy music and like to share this enjoyment with like-minded people.

If you are a newcomer to Auckland, Auckland Clef Music Club may be just the place to meet new people and forge new friendships in 2016. We have a diverse range of members of different ages and ethnicities and we are constantly on the lookout for new members. If you sing or play a musical instrument – especially the latter, (we are short of instrumentalists at present), then we’d love you to be a part of our group. (There are full details about the auditioning process on our About Clef Club page.)

However, if you just love to listen to music, we welcome you too.
Our audience plays a vital role in our club.

So, put us on your 2016 “TO DO” List and make a point of coming along to see what we have to offer and how you can contribute to and benefit from this friendly club.

Refer to our About Clef Club page for more details on the club’s history and  our current subscription rates, etc.
